Hasil akhir dari suatu pengomposan adalah kompos padat dan pupuk cair sebagai suatu bahan yang sangat dibutuhkan untuk kepentingan tanah-tanah pertanian di Indonesia. Kompos memperbaiki sifat kimia, fisika dan biologi tanah, sehingga produksi tanaman menjadi lebih tinggi. Kompos yang dihasilkan dari dekomposisi sampah organik dapat digunakan untuk menguatkan struktur lahan kritis, menggemburkan kembali tanah pertanian, menggemburkan kembali tanah petamanan, sebagai bahan penutup sampah di TPA, reklamasi pantai pasca penambangan, dan sebagai media tanaman, serta mengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia.
Pengayakan kompos disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan penggunaan. Bagi pemupukan pertanian di kebun dan tanaman keras masih bisa ditolerir ukuran besar. Sementara bagi tanaman hias di taman, diperlukan ukuran kompos kecil (lolos mesh 100) . Memilah kompos diperlukan pengayak, bagi skala kecil bisa digunakan pengayak manual ( biasa digunakan tukang tembok bangunan) dan bagi skala bisnis digunakan pengayak (penapis) dengan mesin penggerak.

Mesin Pengayak Getar bagi penapisan aneka ukuran material butiran  kompos, pupuk granul, pupuk padat) berfungsi mengayak kompos dan meilsahkan antara ukuran bongkah, granul dan kompos halus (bagus) .
